ABOUT THE SIMPLIFIED HOME



The Simplified Home is the creation of Organizing Consultant and busy mom of two, Janet Nusbaum (AKA The Organizing Genie). Developing organizing systems to keep life simple, (even when it’s not), became a passion many years ago for formerly messy kid-turned-organizational guru. During her first entrepreneurial endeavor as an event planner, Janet honed organizational, balancing and juggling skills, not only in business, but life as well.

After adopting two girls from Russia in 1997 and 2002, she became acutely aware of how critically important good organizational skills (and an organized environment) were to successful family management and quality of life.

Janet launched Simplified Spaces Professional Organizing Services in 2004 to offer busy families, small businesses, and entrepreneurs practical solutions for a more organized life. When searching for organizing solutions for clients in local retail stores, she found a great need for organizational products that complimented her hands-on work with clients and in her presentations.

The Simplified Home began as a value-add service to her local organizing business in 2007, but it quickly grew to meet the needs of busy moms and families everywhere who searched for organizational products and solutions to help clear the clutter and simplify their busy lifestyles.

The Simplified Home offers the best in practical organization products, that are rarely found in retail stores. Before a product is added to our store, it has to pass The Organizing Genie’s test for quality and usefulness.

PLACING AN ORDER:
We accept orders by credit card and PayPal through The Simplified Home secure shopping cart (powered by Yahoo ECommerce), or you may place an order by phone with your credit card.

To place an order, click Add to Cart when you chose an item you’d like to purchase. Your shopping cart will be stored until you’re ready to check out. When you’ve finished shopping, click the checkout button. You’ll be able review your shopping cart before submiting your order.

ORDERING BY TELEPHONE:
Just call us during our regular office hours. Phone orders must be paid by credit card at the time of purchase.

OUR SHIPPING POLICY:
For most orders, we use the USPS. Shipping charges (US shipments only) include USPS delivery confirmation to protect both parties. Available shipping options are:
  • Standard: USPS ground
  • Faster, but costs more: USPS Priority
  • Media mail – used for book mailing


  • INTERNATIONAL ORDERS:
    Shipments outside of the United States: A fixed $16 or $24 (determined by order total and/or weight) is added to orders. However, depending on the weight of your order, the actual shipping charge may exceed this amount. (FYI—packages shipped outside of the US weighing less than 4 lbs. range between $16—$24 for First Class International). If the package weight exceeds 4 lbs., we will contact you via e-mail to request payment of the additional shipping cost.

    Delivery confirmation is available for US shipments only.

    Your order will ship no later than 4 business days following receipt of your order.

    If you have any special circumstances that affect your shipment, please call or e-mail us and we will do everything we can to accommodate your request.

    Shipping charges are calculated on your order total, as follows:

    Standard USPS:
    $0 to $17.99 = $3.95
    $18.00 to $34.95 = $5.95
    $35.00 to $54.99 = $7.95
    $55.00 up = $9.95

    USPS Priority:
    $0 to $17.99 = $5.95
    $18.00 to $34.95 = $8.95
    $35.00 to $54.95 = $10.95
    $55.00 to $67.99 = $13.95
    $68.00 up = $15.95


    RETURNS, REFUNDS and CANCELLATION POLICY:
    We carefully check your order for quality and accuracy and pack it with tender loving care. We are not responsible for damage that occurs in transit after the package leaves our office.

    However, if the item you receive is defective or not what you ordered, please call us at 317-867-1540, or e-mail at info@TheSimplifiedHome.net.

    Under the following conditions, we will gladly accept your return within 35 days of our ship date.

    In order to receive a refund or credit, your returned item(s) must be in new, undamaged condition, and in its original packaging. Please take care when packaging items for return. (For your protection, we strongly recommend shipping return items with an insured carrier.)

    The following information must be included to process your return:
  • Contact information (Name, Address, Phone Number, and E-mail)
  • Order Number
  • Reason for the return


  • All items must be returned in resalable condition, that is with the original box, packaging (if applicable) and product instructions or other papers. Once the item is received and deemed to be in its original condition, we will process your refund. Please note - if you choose to return a product by simply refusing delivery and without notifying Customer Service, you will still incur the fees as described above. Your refund will not be processed until the item is received by us in its original resalable condition.

    You can expect to receive your refund check within two weeks. The refund will be in the amount of the item(s) purchased, less the original shipping costs.

    A refund or credit will not be given for merchandise returned more than 35 days after the ship date.
